Ryan Colley is CEO of Colley Intelligence, an international corporate advisory firm specializing in crafting offensive and defensive responses to complex reputation, legal, and financial risks. Mr. Colley has a diverse investigations practice that includes leading complex cross-border investigations representing global brands, corporate executives, and sovereign clients involved in high-stakes litigation and disputes. His firm frequently works on behalf of and in coordination with international law firms. Mr. Colley has testified on behalf of multinational corporations in contentious matters and serves as an advisor to numerous Big Law attorneys on matters related to litigation, compliance, and cross-border disputes. In 2026, Ryan was recognized in the Chambers Guide to Investigations & Business Intelligence.
In addition to litigation work, Mr. Colley has an active transactions advisory practice, advising global investment banks, private equity investors, sovereign wealth funds, and ultra-high-net-worth individuals on governance, risk, and compliance. Beyond strategic advice, Mr. Colley is involved in the firm’s work on complex due diligence projects, investigating parties seeking opportunities with the firm’s clients.
Mr. Colley has conducted investigations and advised clients facing complex reputation and business issues in frontier and emerging markets, including India, China, Mexico, Colombia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Honduras, and many others. He is a Spanish and Russian speaker and is learning Italian. He is most frequently called on for complex international litigation matters but also specializes in matters involving financial fraud, data privacy & security, and digital assets. The company specializes in advising on issues where success is achieved by navigating complex legal disputes but often includes parallel criminal, or intelligence referrals. Recent clients include Volkswagen of America, IBM, TD Bank, Intercontinental Exchange Holdings, Inc., M/I Homes, and Johnny Depp.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Classics with a minor in Russian Studies from the College of Charleston. Mr. Colley previously spent several years working for public, private, and media entities on and around Capitol Hill, and with the federal government in the executive branch. He lives in Washington, DC, with his family.
