Lois Colley

Founder

Lois Colley is the founder of Colley Intelligence, an international corporate advisory firm established in 1987. With a robust career spanning 40 years, Colley’s journey in the field of investigation began with five formative years in the public sector, starting as a court investigator and ultimately a probation officer. After leaving the court system, Colley worked in the private sector for a private investigator, managing challenging cases ranging from civil disputes to individuals charged with death penalty specifications. These experiences honed her ability to read people and navigate tough situations, skills that have become invaluable in her investigative work.

Colley’s deep experience lies in the development of real and testimonial evidence. She is an expert at providing comprehensive background, reputational, and financial intelligence, and these skills have made her “go-to” advisor for executive hiring strategies and pre-M&A advisory for corporations and law firms. Her client base is diverse, encompassing public- and private-sector entities as well as financial institutions. Throughout her career, Colley has led teams of investigators in multi-jurisdictional and international investigations and has provided testimony in local, state, and federal courts, as well as grand jury proceedings.

A graduate with honors from Ohio University, Colley is a member of the International Intelligence Network (Intellenet) and a former executive board member and executive director of the Council of International Investigators (CII). Noteworthy accomplishments in her career include:

• Principal investigator in the successful defense of former White House Counsel John Dowd in litigation brought by former professional baseball player Pete Rose.
• Lead investigator in the corporate defense team of the largest public corruption case in the history of the state of Ohio
• Advised and consulted for numerous ultra-high-net-worth individuals on privacy, reputation, and security issues.
• Advisor to C-Suite executives and outside counsel of multi-national organizations

As the industry evolved, so has Colley’s firm. Today, Colley Intelligence has expanded geographically and recruited highly specialized talent with deep expertise in reputation management, risk, litigation, and compliance.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, sewing, biking, and spending quality time with her family.
